Accommodation (for Arab and foreign)

Department of Immigration and Passport - Ministry of Interior:

Definition of the service:

The Arab citizens and foreigners should obtain residency upon entry to Syria.

Conditions:

1 - Tourist accommodation visa: Granted on the passport of Arabs and foreigners for up to six months; does not allow the holder to work and does not need an exit visa when you leave.

 2 - Temporary Residence visa: granted for one year renewable for Arabs and foreigners, after presenting official documents to justify the request for accommodation.

3 - Normal Residence: Granted to Arabs and foreigners for a period of three years of the following categories:

 - Those who were born in Syria and actual period of residence where /3/ three years from the date of application.

- Those that the actual period of residence was more than /5/ five years from the date of submitting the application.

4- Private Residence: Granted to Arabs and foreigners for a period of five years to the following categories:

- Those that the actual and official period of their residence was /15/ fifteen years from the date of submitting the application.

- Those that the actual period of their residence was more than /5/ five years and were doing useful work for the national economy.

- Men of literature and scientists, art and industry that provide a valuable service to the country and were appreciated from Minister of the Interior.

- Syrian Arab wives of foreign and Arab who the actual period of their residence was more than two years from the fixed date of the marriage.

Required Documents:

The required documents for the Tourist accommodation in Syria:

- The application costs 25 SP.

- /3/ photos for the person at the first renewal, and without photos for the next renewal.

- Photocopy of the passport pages required (picture, name, last entry stamp /2/)

 - An accurate address and full details (Accommodation support + contract for rental).

 - Completing / 3 / applications’ request for information with handwriting.

  The required documents for Temporary residence in Syria:

- The application costs 25 SP.

- Completing / 4 / request for information with handwriting.

- /5/ photos to the person at the first renewal, and /3/ at the other renewal.

- Photocopy of the passport pages required (picture, name, last entry stamp /3/).

- Examination of AIDS to person between the ages of 15 and 50 years

- Examination of tuberculosis

- TB screening

-  An accurate address and full details (Accommodation support + contract for rental).

- Students who are studying at universities, institutes and schools in Syria need to provide a certified document representing their school or university time attendance.

- Non-students need an approval from Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour to those who work inside the country.

 - The wives of the Syrian citizens need a family statement.

The required documents for Normal Residence in Syria:

- The application costs 25 SP.

- Completing / 4 / request for information with handwriting.

- /5/ colored  photos.

- Photocopy of the passport pages required (picture name + last entry stamp).

- Approval of work for those who want to work in Syria.

The required documents for Private Residence in Syria:

- The application costs 25 SP.

- Completing  / 4 / request for information with handwriting.

- /5/ colored  photos.

- Photocopy of the passport pages required (picture name + last entry stamp).

Stamps:

 - A financial stamp of 10 Syrian Pounds.

Procedures:

You should consult the Department of Immigration and Passports and its branches in the governorates to provide documentation and start the real procedure.

Special cases:

1 - The feature of entry and transit is given to foreign nationals of the Syrian Arab diplomatic missions abroad or the Ministry of Interior and could include the wife and minor children.

2 - The feature of entry and transit is given to the nationals of Arab directly from centers of border.

3- A passport or alternative document must be carried all times in Syria and should those documents be valid upon the date of leaving Syria.

Registration accommodation for foreigners:

When you plan to stay for a longer period; foreigners should review "The Department of Immigration and Passports – Ministry of Interior" and its branches around Syria, within/15/ fifteen days from the date of their entry,and during the three months for Arabs, and six months Lebanese.

 The required documents for exit visas:

- The application cost 15 SP.

- Students need to provide an approval from the institutes where they study

- Experts need to provide an approval from the public sector where they work

- Journalists need to provide an approval from the Ministry of Information.

- The value of stamps is: 40 Syrian pounds for a single trip and 80 SP for multi trips.

The holder of temporary, regular and special residence is subject to exit and return visa before leaving the country.

Deportation:

Minister of the Interior has the right to deport any foreigner or Arab with the requirements of security and public interest and for any other reasons that the Minister is determined.

Deportee has no right to return to Syria, except with a decision from Minister of  Interior.
